Description
Founded in January, 2016, SavingSydneysTrees is a Grassroots movement Association. Inspired by the devastating loss of some of Sydney's most Majestic and Significant "Anzac Memorial Fig Trees" on Anzac Pde. and the devastating impacts on the Environment of the areas surrounding the now (2020) recognised as Significantly flawed Project, i.e. CBD and South East Light Rail "Significant Infrastructure" Project.
Passionate about Saving Sydney's Trees in the Greater Sydney Area.
Since formation we have expanded our scope to include a Holistic Perspective on this venture in areas of Planning across all levels of Government. We remain totally non political. Community and strategy based.
Areas of Climate, Flora and Fauna and Policy interaction for Better Planning for our future generations, a Primary Focus.
The importance of our Tree Canopy, Vegetation and Green Spaces are seen as key to this end.
Recognition of their $Value and linked implications to our Health, Wellbeing, Climate and Energy has become even clearer as in need of inclusion in All Planning and Projects Cost Benefit Analysis in recognised government and Planning Processes and Design.
To approach the National aspects in this direction, we have formed an Extended Association "Tree Canopy Taskforce Australia Inc." It is hoped that we can assist the Community Voice to achieve desirable, Sustainability and Resilience for the Future.
