Description

The WA Forest Alliance (WAFA) was formed in 1990 to provide an umbrella body for the many community environment organisations in Perth and throughout the South West that are concerned with forest conservation.

WAFA wants no more logging, thinning or clearing of public forests and woodlands in WA. WAFA continues to highlight to government and the public the real alternatives for the South West and for the timber industry.

Forests forever? It's now or never!

WHO ARE WE

The WA Forest Alliance is WA's peak forest conservation body. We were formed in 1990 to provide an umbrella body for the many community organisations in Perth and throughout the south-west concerned with forest conservation. We are dedicated to the protection of WA’s native forests and woodlands.
Our vision

The WA Forest Alliance works for the protection of WA’s south-west forests and wildlife and an end to the logging, thinning and clearing of our public forests and woodlands.

It is time for WA’s karri and jarrah forests to be protected and for the timber industry to complete the transition into sustainably managed plantations and farm forestry. A timber industry restructured in this way will be in the best environmental, social and economic interests of the State.
You

Many thousands of people have shown their support for the protection of WA’s south-west forests and wildlife by taking action. Together we will leave a positive legacy for future generations.
The organisations

The WA Forest Alliance has 20 member groups, many from the south-west, that work together for the protection of WA’s south-west forests and wildlife.
