History of group
BGFF has for 25 years fought to preserve native forests in the Shire of Bridgetown-Greenbushes, in one case even taking an issue to the High Court of Australia. As a result the Shire has a high proportion of its surrounding forests preserved for its residents and visitors and future generations.
We are now fighting to preserve the Warrup forest block in the south east of the Shire. This 35 sq km forest is the last major mixed old-growth and high conservation value forest in the south eastern jarrah forest where the original forest structure is still preserved. For further information please go to www.savewarrup.com
We are also actively involved in the West Australian Forest Alliance campaign to end logging of native forests.
